Die zuerst genannte Arbeit ist ein Auszug aus der zweiten. Die Ellipsen werden zu Kreisen, wenn man das Streuungsdiagramm in einem gewissen schiefwinkligen Parallelkoordinatensystem darstellt. Die erforderlichen Formeln für die Bestimmung des Winkels und der Maßstäbe werden angegeben; im ersten Artikel findet sich außerdem eine Tabelle für den Radius des Kreises, innerhalb dessen \(p\) Prozent der Punkte fallen müssen, für \(p = 0, 1, 2\) usw. bis 99 Prozent.
