Die Annahme thermodynamischen Gleichgewichts zwischen Strahlung und Materie liefert die Intensitätsverhältnisse von \textit{Stokes}schen und antistokesschen \textit{Raman}linien, womit sich eine optische Methode zur Bestimmung von \(\dfrac{h}{k}\) ableiten läßt. Ferner wird die Abhängigkeit der gestreuten Energie von der gestreuten Frequenz berechnet.
