The so-called scaled two-mode KdV (STMKdV) equation is studied. Its Hamiltonian structure and solitary wave interaction are discussed. In Section 2, a general description of the Hamiltonian formalism is presented. In Section 3, the Hamiltonian formalism is applied to the STMKdV equation. After that, numerical results regarding solitary wave interaction are demonstrated.
