The paper considers the boundary control of \[ y_{tt}(x,t)-y_{xx} (x,t)= 0,\quad 0<x<1, \quad t>0 \] \[ y_x(0,t)=0, \quad -y_x(1,t)= \tau(t), \] \[ \tau (t)= k_v\left[y_t(1,t)+ \int^1_0 G(x)y_t(x,t) dx\right], \] where \(k_v>0\) and \(G\in L^2 (0,1)\); the initial conditions \(y(x,0)\) and \(y_x(x,0)\) are taken from \(H^1(0,1)\) and \(L^2(0,1)\), respectively. Exponential stability of the equilibria is studied using a specially chosen Lyapunov functional.
