    The author proves the following theorem. Let k be an infinite skew field, \(n\in {\mathbb{N}}\) and \(G\leq GL(k^ n)\) a group acting transitively on \(k^ n\setminus \{0\}\). If G has a soluble normal subgroup N with \(| G/N| <| N|\), then k is commutative and G normalizes a transitive extension field \(L\subseteq End(k^ n)\) of k.id. This extends a result of \textit{Th. Grundhöfer} [see J. Algebra 105, 303-307 (1987; Zbl 0612.12020)]. The proof is short.
