If \({\mathcal B}({\mathcal H})\) is the Banach space of bounded linear operators on a Hilbert space \({\mathcal H}\) and \({\mathcal C}({\mathcal H})\) and \({\mathcal T}({\mathcal H})\) denote the subspaces of compact operators and trace class operators respectively the last one with trace norm, then it is well known that \({\mathcal C}({\mathcal H})^*\approx {\mathcal T}({\mathcal H})\) and \({\mathcal T}({\mathcal H})^*\approx {\mathcal B}({\mathcal H})\) where \(\approx\) denotes isomorphic isomorphism. The authors extend these results to finite direct sums of these spaces of operators equipped with appropriate \(\ell_{p}\)- style joint norms constructed out of the components of the \(n\)-tuples of operators. Three such isometric isomorphism results are presented, two in theorem 1 and one in theorem 2, all with rather detailed and mainly constructive proofs.
