The authors present rigorous proofs of some results on possible lower orders of a composite function f(g) based on the growth rates of f and g. The authors show, for example, that if f(g) is of finite lower order, then either f is of finite lower order and g is a polynomial, or f is of zero lower order and g is not a polynomial but a function of finite lower order.
