The paper proves that a map of a complete, connected manifold \(M^ n\) into a connected manifold \(N^ n\) which everywhere is a local projective or conformal isomorphism, is onto and a covering map and then N is complete. This is inspired by the analogous theorem of \textit{W. Ambrose} [Ann. Math., II. Ser. 64, 337-363 (1956; Zbl 0075.174)] for isometries and \textit{N. Hicks} [Ill. J. Math. 3, 242-254 (1959; Zbl 0088.381)] for affine isomorphisms. The proof is through the geodesic flow for the Cartan normal connections of the structures.
