Let G be a group, \(\Gamma\) an invariant set of involutions (''lines''). Denote by \({\mathfrak P}\) the set of involutions in \(\Gamma\cdot \Gamma\) (''points''). \textit{E. Quaisser} [Wiss. Z. Pädagog. Hochsch. Karl- Liebknecht, Potsdam 23, 47-51 (1979; Zbl 0426.51001)] showed that if certain axioms are satisfied, then (\({\mathfrak P},\Gamma)\) is isomorphic to the affine plane over a skew field of characteristic \(\neq 2\). In the underlying paper, the author assumes that G is a topological group. He elaborates sufficient conditions for the topology to induce (1) on the set of points of a line a skew field topology (2) on \({\mathfrak P}\) a coordinate topology.
