The note claims that Buttke's new method [\textit{Th. F. Buttke}, ibid. 89, No.1, 161-186 (1990; Zbl 0696.76029)] is unsuitable for numerical computation, since the peculiar nature of the velocity field calculated from his new representing of contours renders the tangent-slope discontinuities which are implausible on basic fluid dynamical grounds. Moreover, the signs of spurious internodal scale oscillations shown by the curvature in Buttke's paper indicate presence of undesirable feedback path in the discrete system of the new method.
