This paper is devoted to the study of the global behaviour of bounded solutions to an elliptic-parabolic mixed boundary value problem (Dirichlet-Neumann), arising in the filtration of a fluid in a partially saturated porous medium. The differential equation, which is considered is of the form \[ (*)\quad\partial_ tb(u)-div a[\nabla u+K(b(u))]=f(x,t,b(u))\quad in\quad\Omega_{\infty}. \] Where a is a positive definite symmetric matrix, K and b are assumed to be Lipschitz continuous and additionally b has to be monotone nondecreasing; f must satisfy a suitable growth condition. b may be constant and in this case the equation changes its type. In this paper \(L^{\infty}(0,\infty;H^{1,2}(\Omega))-estimates\) and the strong convergence (\(t\to\infty )\) in \(H^{1,2}(\Omega)\) of the solution of (*) with respect to initial and Dirichlet-Neumann conditions to the solution of the corresponding stationary problem are proved.
