Let \(a_ n\geq 0\), n-1,2,..., \(a_ 0>0\), \(1\leq p\geq \infty\) and \(1\leq r<\infty\). Then \[ W^{\infty}_ a=\{f:\;||| f|||_ a=(\sum^{\infty}_{n=0}a_ n\| D^ nf\|^ r_ p)^{1/r}<\infty \} \] is called the Sobolev space of infinite order of functions defined on R. \(W^{\infty}_ b\) is defined analogously. Using a method different from the previous ones, the author obtains some necessary and sufficient conditions for the imbedding \(W^{\infty}_ a\hookrightarrow W^{\infty}_ b\). These conditions can be easily verified and some of them are better than the corresponding ones of the previous authors. The corresponding imbedding conditions for the case \(r=\infty\) also can be established by this method after some modifications.
