A Banach frame for a Banach space \(E\) is a pair \(((f_n)_{n\in\mathbb N},S)\) with \(f_n\in E^*\) and \(S:E_d\to E\), where \(E_d\) is a Banach space of scalar sequences indexed by \(\mathbb N\) such that \((f_n(x))_{n\in\mathbb N}\in E_d\) for all \(x\in E\), and there are positive constants \(A\) and \(B\) such that \(A\| x\| _E \leq \| (f_n(x))\| _{E_d} \leq B\| x\| _E\), and \(S((f_n(x)))=x\) for all \(x\in E\). The authors give examples of Banach frames with different properties and show, among other things, that if \(E^*\) is weak\(^*\) separable, then \(E\) has a normalized tight and exact frame. Furthermore, they study stability results for Banach frames as well as the question under what conditions the finite sum of Banach frames is a Banach frame.
