A meet semilattice S is said to be weakly distributive is whenever x, \(x_ 1,...,x_ n\in S\) and \(x_ 1+...+x_ n\) exists in S where n is any positive integer, then \(xx_ 1+...+xx_ n\) exists and \(x(x_ 1+...+x_ n)=xx_ 1+...+xx_ n\). A meet semilattice which satisfies the above condition for \(n=2\) is said to be very weakly distributive. Using the theory of ideals, the authors prove that a meet semilattice is very weakly distributive if and only if it is weakly distributive.
