This volume presents ten empirically oriented spatial equilibrium models. The solution concepts range from perfect competition, to noncooperative (Cournot-Nash) and cooperative equilibria. Computational aspects are discussed in every case; the papers address both theoretical and empirical issues (some discuss equilibrium concepts and solution algorithms; others investigate the impact of deregulation proposals in various industries). As such, the volume presents a rather comprehensive account of the current state of the art, and is a useful modern complement to Judge and Takayama's pioneering work in ``Spatial and Temporal Price and Allocation Models'', North Holland (1971).
