Let S denote the class of analytic univalent functions in the unit disk U, normalized by \(f(0)=0=f'(0)-1\). Let C, \(S^*\) and K be the subclasses of S consisting of convex, starlike and close-to-convex functions, respectively. It was proved by Ruscheweyh and Sheil-Small that if \(h\in C\) then f*h is in \(C,S^*,K\) according as f is in C, \(S^*\), K, respectively, where f*h denotes the Hadamard product of f and h. Let f be analytic in U. Then \(f\in S^*_ s\) if for \(z\in U\) \(Re\{zf'(z)/(f(z)- f(-z))\}>0;\quad f\in S^*_ s(\lambda)\)if \[ \arg \{zf'(z)/(f(z)-f(- z))\}<\lambda \pi /2,\quad 0<\lambda <1;\quad z\in U; \] \[ f\in C_ s\quad if\quad Re\{z(zf'(z))'/(zf'(z)+zf'(-z))\}>0,\quad z\in U; \] and \(f\in K_ s\) if there exists \(K\in S^*_ s\) such that \(Re\{zf'(z)/(k(z)-k(-z))\}>0\), \(z\in U\). In this paper using the techniques and results of Ruschewey and Sheil-Small, the author proves the following main theorem. Let \(h\in C\). If f is in \(S^*_ s\), \(C_ s\), \(K_ s\) or \(S^*_ s(\lambda)\), \(0<\lambda <1\), then h*f is in \(S^*_ s\), \(C_ s\), \(K_ s\) or \(S^*_ s(\lambda)\) respectively. The influence of certain well-known operators over these classes is also investigated.
