Let \(F_ 1, F_ 2, F_ 3\) be surfaces in \({\mathbb{P}}^ 3\) such that \(F_ 1\cap F_ 2\cap F_ 3\) is given by one irreducible and reduced curve C and a finite set of points \(P_ 1,P_ 2,...,P_ r\). The authors show that \[ \prod^{3}_{i=1}\deg (F_ i)\quad -\deg (C)-r\geq \#(embedded\quad points\quad of\quad F_ 1\cap F_ 2\cap F_ 3). \] [See also part II of this paper, ibid. 25, 177-184 (1987; Zbl 0633.14003), see also the following review.]
