The author investigates the equation \[ du/dt+Au(t)=f(t,u(t))+\int^{t}_{t_ 0}g(t,s,u(s),\int^{s}_{t_ 0}K(s,\tau,u(\tau))d\tau)ds,\quad t\geq t_ 0,\quad u(t_ 0)=u_ 0, \] where the solution u takes values in a Banach space B and -A is the generator of a \(C_ 0\)-semigroup T(t). Assuming f, K to be locally Lipschitzian in u and g to be locally Lipschitzian in the third and last argument, local existence and uniqueness of solutions is obtained through the use of contraction mapping techniques. Taking f, g, K and T sufficiently small, solutions are shown a) to be bounded on \([t_ 0,\infty)\), b) to vanish at infinity.
