In the past years, one of the most important progress on the study of random fields and infinite particle systems is the understanding about the metastability of Ising model, in particular its Wulff construction. The author reports in this article mainly on two papers: The author's one [Commun. Math. Phys. 161, No. 1, 1-49 (1994; Zbl 0796.60103)] and the one jointly with \textit{S. B. Shlosman} [ibid. 194, 389-462 (1998)]. In the first paper, the author presents a general picture for all dimensions but in a partial region; in the second paper, the answer is complete but restricted to dimension two.
