The electromagnetic waves generated by a time harmonic source into a conducting half-space bounded by an insulated one, are analyzed. For large time values, the form of a steady state approximate solution is infered and the behavior of its components at long distances and along the interface is carefully studied. The spectrum of a dissipative selfadjoint operator is one of the used tools. Although the effort to self-consistency is obvious, the paper remains strongly related to authors' previous extensive studies on the same problem.
