According to Di Maio and Noiri a topological space \(X\) is called \(s\)- closed if every semi-open cover of \(X\) has a finite subfamily whose semi- closures cover \(X\). In this paper the authors introduce the concepts of \(s\)-\(\theta\)-closed subsets, \(s\)-\(\theta\)-open subsets, and of \(s\)- \(\theta\)-accumulation points. These notions are used to provide new characterizations of \(s\)-closed spaces. In addition, the concept of \(s\)- \(\theta\)-continuity is studied, and as a result further characterizations of \(s\)-closed spaces are obtained.
