This paper extends earlier results of Lazer, Sanchez and of Mawhin about the number and the stability of periodic solutions of periodic first order scalar nonlinear differential equations of the form \(x'=f(t,x)\), when \(f\) satisfies a suitable convexity or concavity condition with respect to \(x\). The usual strictness of the convexity or concavity assumption is weakened.
