The authors present a new Rayleigh-Ritz preconditioner based on Krylov subspaces and superconvergence properties. The algorithm consists of a suitable reuse of a given set of Ritz vectors and Ritz values. The series of linear problems are solved by the conjugate gradient algorithm. The construction of the preconditioner is presented either for unconstrained or constrained problems. A practical application to domain decomposition methods for nonlinear elasticity problems is presented.
