Let \(f\) be an entire function of order zero with \(f(0)=1\). Let \(n(r)\) denote the number of zeroes of \(f\) in the disc \(\{| z| \leq r\}\), \(N(r):=\int_1^{r}\frac{n(t)}{t}dt\), and let \(\lambda :[0,+\infty)\to(0,+\infty)\) be the proximate order of the function \(n\), i.e. \(\lambda\in\mathcal C^1\), \(\lim_{r\to+\infty}\lambda(r)=\lim_{r\to+\infty}r\lambda'(r)\log r=0\), \(v(r):=r^{\lambda(r)}\nearrow+\infty\) as \(r\nearrow+\infty\), and \(0<\limsup_{r\to+\infty}n(r)/v(r)<+\infty\). The author studies the case where \(f\) is a function of strongly regular growth, i.e. there exists a set \(E\subset\mathbb R\) with \(\lim_{r\to+\infty}\text{mes}(E\cap[0,r])/r=0\) such that the limit \(\lim_{E\not\ni r\to+\infty}\frac{\log| f(r\exp(i\theta))| -N(r)}{v(r)}\) exists and is locally uniform with respect to \(\theta\in[-\pi,\pi)\).
