This is a completely elementary introduction into fuzzy set theory and its most basic applications like fuzzy arithmetic and approximate reasoning, suitable, e.g., for undergraduate engineering students. Usually there are no remarks pointing to some mathematically more involved problems. The error level seems to be fair, nevertheless it may happen that, e.g., the characteristic function of a binary fuzzy relation is treated as a ternary one. Thus, for a more mathematically inclined reader it is at most a first reading.
