Let \(\Omega\) be a bounded open set in \(\mathbb{R}^ n\) of class \(C^ 2\) and \(a:\Omega \times \mathbb{R}^{nN} \to \mathbb{R}^ N\) a Caratheodory function which satisfies the following property: There exist positive constants \(\ell\), \(L\) and \(K\) with \(K^ 2<(1/L)\) and a function \(b:\Omega \times \mathbb{R}^{n^ 2N} \to \mathbb{R}^{n^ 2N}\) such that \(\ell \leq b(x,\xi,\eta) \leq L\) and \[ \biggl \| \sum^ n_{i=1} \eta_{ii} - b(x,\xi,\eta) \bigl( a(x,\xi + \zeta) - a(x,\xi) \bigr) \biggr \| \leq K \| \eta \| \] for all \(\xi,\zeta \in \mathbb{R}^{n^ 2N}\) and for almost all \(x \in \Omega\). Then the following result is proved: There exists a \(q_ 0>2\) such that for all \(q \in[2,q_ 0)\) and all \(f \in L^ q (\Omega; \mathbb{R}^ N)\) there exists exactly one solution \(u \in W^{2,q} (\Omega;\mathbb{R}^ N) \cap W_ 0^{1,q} (\Omega;\mathbb{R}^ N)\) of the non variational differential system \(a(x,H(u))=f\) (where \(H(u):= \{D_ iD_ ju\}^ n_{i,j=1})\). Moreover, if \(f \in {\mathcal L}^{2,\lambda} (\Omega; \mathbb{R}^ N)\) (the Campanato space) with \(0<\lambda<n\) then \(u\) (resp. \(Du)\) is Hölder continuous if \(n \leq 4\) (resp. \(n=2)\).
