This well written text presents briefly special mathematical tools to third-year students of mechanical engineering. There are six sections: matrices, tensor analysis, ordinary and partial differential equations, calculus of variations and analytical mechanics, stability, approximations. Starting with basics, each section shows how to apply theory to mechanical systems; there are thirty-nine problems.
