The article contains variations and extensions of Lluis' result that a smooth strange curve, which is not a line, is a conic, and the characteristic of the ground field must be 2. Apart from the assertions of the results, the article consists of 1 page of motivation and remarks, and 1/2 page of (a very condensed) proof. The referee would have preferred to have it the other way around.
