    Let \(M\) be a Riemannian manifold of dimension \(m\) with boundary \(\partial M\). Let \(d_ p : C^ \infty \wedge^ p M \to C^ \infty \wedge^{p + 1} M\) be the exterior differentiation, \(\delta_ p\) its adjoint, and denote for \(A > 0\), \(B > 0\) by \(D\) the operator \(D = Ad_ 0 \delta_ 0 + B\delta_ 1 d_ 1 - E\) on \(C^ \infty T^*M\) for some zero-order part \(E\). Also consider some boundary condition \(B\). The author studies the short time behavior of the fundamental solution of the heat equation \(e^{-tP_ B} f\). In fact, if \(\widetilde{f}\) is some auxiliary test function, then one can show that \(\int_ M(e^{-tP_ B} f, \widetilde{f})dx\) is asymptotically of form \(\sum_{n\geq 0} \beta_ n t^{n/2}\) and the author derives explicit formulas for \(\beta_ 0, \beta_ 1, \beta_ 2\) for ``absolute'', ``relative'' and Dirichlet boundary conditions.
