The domain of bounded motion in two-dimensional polynomial area-preserving diffeomorphisms is studied. An elliptic fixed point is selected as the origin of the coordinate system. Then it is shown that the fixed point of order 1 or 2, most distant from the origin, is hyperbolic and the border of the region of bounded motion is the union of the stable and unstable manifolds emanating from this point. Numerical verification of these results is given in three different cases.
