It is well known that every uniform space \(X= (X,\mu)\) can be embedded into its Samuel compactification \(SX= (\widehat X,\widehat\mu_{\text{fin}})\), which is the completion of the uniform space \((X,\mu_{\text{fin}})\) generated by all finite uniform covers of \(X\). Some answers are given to the following natural questions concerning this embedding: (1) When is \(X\) \(z\)-embedded (respectively \(G_\delta\)-dense, \(C_1\)-embedded, or \(C_1'\)-embedded) in \(SX\)? (2) When are two subsets \(A\) and \(B\) of \(X\) completely separated in \(SX\)? (3) When is a subset \(A\) of \(X\) \(G_\delta\)-dense in its closure in \(SX\)? (4) When does there exist a normal Wallman basis \({\mathcal B}\) on \(X\) consisting of cozero sets such that the Wallman compactification generated by \({\mathcal B}\) is homeomorphic to \(SX\)?
