The authors study \(C^1(\overline{\Omega})\) solutions of the boundary value problems \[ \Delta_p u = g(\lambda, u) \quad \text{in } \Omega \] \[ u=0\quad \text{on } \partial\Omega \] where \(p> 1\), \(\lambda > 0\) and \(\Omega\) is a bounded open set in \(\mathbb R^N\), \(N\geq 2\). In particular, results of existence and multiplicity of cla are proved in the case \(g(\lambda,.)\) in \(C^1\), nondecreasing and \(p\)-sublinear. The methods of proof are of comparison type; moreover, the results extend to the case of \(p\)-Laplacian systems.
