The article deals with equivariant generalizations of Whitehead group and Whitehead torsion to the semialgebraic category. Namely, for a compact semialgebraic (over \(\mathbb{R}\)) group \(G\) the authors define the equivariant Whitehead group of a semialgebraic \(G\)-set and the Whitebead torsion of a \(G\)-homotopy equivalence between semialgebraic \(G\)-sets. A semialgebraic \(G\)-set is a semialgebraic set in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) which is invariant under the image of a semialgebraic representation of \(G\) in \(\text{GL}(n,\mathbb{R})\).) The authors also prove the semialgebraic invariance of the equivariant Whitehead torsion.
