Der erste Teil der Abhandlung ist eine ausführlichere Darstellung des Inhalts der Note in C. R. 152, 313-315 (F. d. M. 42, 929 (JFM 42.0929.*), 1911), vermehrt um die Anwendung auf die Magnetostriktion. Der zweite Teil, ein Anhang zum ersten, enthält eine Berechnung der Magnetisierungsarbeit nach zwei verschiedenen Methoden und zeigt, daß statt der sonst gebrauchten Form \(d\mathfrak T_{\mathfrak a} = Md H = J v d H\) zu schreiben sei \(= H d M\) oder \(H d (Jv)\).
