    \textit{Porter} fragt nach der Polargleichung einer Kurve (JFM 38.0629.04), bei welcher der Krümmungsradius der Bogenlänge umgekehrt proportional ist. \textit{Bryan} zeigt, daß\ die Gleichung das Resultat der Elimination von \(u\) aus den beiden Gleichungen ist: \[ r=k\int_{0}^{u}\cos(u^{2}-\theta)du, \quad 0=\int_{0}^{u}\sin(u^{2}-\theta)du, \] wo \(r\) und \(\theta\) die Polarkoordinaten sind. Referent fügt hinzu, daß\ diese Kurve, deren natürliche Gleichung \(Rs=a^{2}\) ist, die von \textit{E. Cesàro} unter dem Namen ``Klothoide'' untersuchte Kurve ist.
