    Auf ziemlich elementare Weise wird folgender Satz bewiesen: Ein Gleichungssystem \[ p_\alpha=F_\alpha(x_1,\dots,x_n,p_{m+1},\dots,p_n)\quad (p_i=\frac{\partial z}{\partial x_i}\,,\;\alpha=1,\dots,m) \] hat, wenn die Bedingungen \[ \frac{\partial F_\alpha}{\partial x_\beta}-\frac{\partial F_\beta}{\partial x_\alpha}=\sum^{n}_{\nu=m+1}\left(\frac{\partial F_\alpha}{\partial x_\nu}\;\frac{\partial F_\beta}{\partial p_\nu}-\frac{\partial F_\alpha}{\partial p_\nu}\;\frac{\partial F_\beta}{\partial x_\nu}\right)\qquad \left(\begin{aligned} & \alpha=1,\dots,m\\ & \beta=1,\dots,m\end{aligned}\right) \] identisch erfüllt sind, eine und nur eine Lösung \(z = \varphi(x_1,\dots,x_n)\) mit der Eigenschaft, dass sie sich für \(x_1=k_1,\dots,x_m=k_m\) auf eine gegebene Function von \(x_{m+1},\dots,x_n\) reducirt.
