Man hat bisher geglaubt, dass der ``Baculus Geometricus'' von Regiomontanus erfunden worden ist. Herr Günter zeigt hier, dass dies Instrument schon in einem um das Jahr 1450 verfassten Aufsatze De baculo geometrico beschrieben ist und also jedenfalls vor Regiomontanus bekannt war.
