Nach den von Herren Nöther und Frobenius gegebenen Principien werden in der vorliegenden Note die \(p\)-reihigen Charakteristiken, die aus Dritteln ganzer Zahlen gebildet sind, untersucht, diesbezügliche Definitionen und Sätze aufgestellt und zum Schlusse unter Anwendung des Satzes des Herrn Hermite eine Thetaformel von grosser Allgemeinheit abgeleitet. Die Endformel am Schlusse der sechsten Seite ist fehlerhaft und von dem Herrn Verfasser selbst in den Abh. d. k. bayer. Akademie der Wiss. II CI. XVI. Bd. II. Abtl. pag. 352 berichtigt worden.
