Die Aufgabe, alle Raumcurven zu bestimmen, deren Krümmungsradius \(\varrho\) und Torsionsradius \(r\) gegebene Functionen von der Bogenlänge \(s\) sind, verlangt nach Hoppe die Integration einer Riccati'schen Gleichung erster Ordnung. Aus seinen Untersuchungen folgt leicht, obgleich er es kaum explicite ausgesprochen hat, dass man alle Raumcurven angeben kann, die eine gegebene Relation der Form \[ \Omega \left( s, \int \frac {ds}{\varrho} , \int \frac {ds}{r} \right) = 0 \] erfüllen. Die vorliegende Note giebt die allgemeine Bestimmung aller Raumcurven, die eine beliebig gegebene Relation der Form \[ W (s, \varrho, r) = 0 \] befriedigen. Hierbei ist indess zu bemerken, dass die Formeln, welche dieses bemerkenswerte Resuhat bieten, mit Imaginärem behaftet sind, welches im allgemeinen Falle kaum weggeschafft werden kann. Die angewandte Methode beruht auf der allgemeinen Theorie der Differentialinvarianten.
