Die partielle Differentialgleichung \[ x^{2}\frac{\partial^{2}z}{\partial x^{2}}+2xy\frac{\partial^{2}z}{\partial x\partial y}+ y^{2}\frac{\partial^{2}z}{\partial y^{2}}-n \left(x\frac{\partial z}{\partial x}+y\frac{\partial z}{\partial y}\right) +nz=f(x,y) \] geht durch die Substitution \(y=ux\) über in \[ y^{2}\frac{\partial^{2}z}{\partial y^{2}}-ny\frac{\partial z}{\partial y}+nz=f\left(\frac{y}{u},y\right). \] Die andere \[ (1-x^{2})^{2}\frac{\partial^{2}z}{\partial x^{2}}+2(1-x^{2})(1-xy) \frac{\partial^{2}z}{\partial x\partial y}+ (1-xy)^{2} \frac{\partial^{2}z}{\partial y^{2}}-2x(1-x^{2})\frac{\partial z}{\partial x}-(x+y-2x^{2}y)\frac{\partial z}{\partial y}+n^{2}z=0 \] kommt durch die Substitution \[ \frac{y-x}{\sqrt{1-x^{2}}}=u \] auf die Form \[ M\frac{\partial^{2}z}{\partial y^{2}}+\frac{1}{2}\;\frac{\partial M}{\partial y}\;\frac{\partial z}{\partial y}+n^{2}z=0 \] und hat das Integral \[ M\left(\frac{\partial z}{\partial y}\right)^{2}+n^{2}z^{2}=\;\text{const.} \]
