Das Theorem, welches der Gegenstand dieser Arbeit ist, wurde im Jahre 1870 vom Verfasser veröffentlicht, jedoch war dies Theorem schon 1867 in Oxford in Thomson's und Tait's ``Natur-Philosophie'' erschienen. Es unterliegt aber keinem Zweifel, dass Clausius dasselbe selbständig gefundent hat. Vorliegende Arbeit zeigt die Abweichungen von Hamilton's ``Mechanischen Principien'' und giebt mancherlei Anwendungen.
