The book presents a rigorous framework for the specification and verification of concurrent systems. Petri net algebra is based on process algebra and Petri nets. Petri nets are treated as composable objects and embedded in a general process algebra. Some process algebras is given Petri net semantics. Petri net based verification techniques are applied to process algebras. The book contains full proofs, carefully chosen examples and connections to other process algebras.
