The article supplements the author's investigations in [Math. Notes 58, No. 1, 752-756 (1995); translation from Mat. Zametki 58, No. 1, 111-118 (1995; Zbl 0855.53023) and Ann. Global Anal. Geom. 13, 329-249 (1995; Zbl 0839.53028)]. A curve \(\gamma(t)\subset M\) is a pregeodesic of a manifold \(M\) with a linear connection \(\nabla\) if \(\gamma(t)\) becomes a geodesic line after affine change of its parameter \(t\). If \(f:M\rightarrow N\) sends each pregeodesic line \(\gamma\) of \(M\) into a pregeodesic line \(\gamma'=f(\gamma)\) of \(N\), then the mapping is said to be projective. The author finds some obstructions (in terms of curvature) to the existence of projective submersions of compact manifolds without or with boundary. For example, the following theorem is proved using an integral formula of the author's paper [Tensor, New Ser. 55, 209-214 (1994; Zbl 0831.53023)]. Theorem: Let \(f:M\rightarrow N\) be a submersion of a compact oriented Riemannian manifold \(M\) with boundary \(\partial M\) onto anone-dimensional Riemannian manifold \(N\). Next, suppose that \(\partial M\) is an integral manifold of the vertical distribution \(V=\ker f_*\). If the horizontal Ricci curvature of \(M\) is either quasipositive or quasinegative, then the submersion \(f\) cannot be projective.
