Two-level preconditioning methods are introduced for solving large sparse linear systems arising from the application of finite difference and finite element methods. Methods are developed for the two-level solution with the use of \(r\)-linear orderings as applied to pseudoconjugate direction methods, in particular, the biconjugate gradient method. The efficiency of the algorithm is illustrated by an example of the numerical solution of the algebraized equations of the drift-diffusion model of charge transport in semiconductors.
