Matsumoto \(K\)-groups associated to certain shift spaces (Q1769057): Difference between revisions

Conditions are found that ensure the first cohomology group of a shift space is a quotient of the \(K_0\) group of \textit{K. Matsumoto} [Doc. Math., J. DMV 4, 285--340 (1999; Zbl 0926.37002)]; under additional conditions the \(K_0\) group is described using the first cohomology group and additional data coming from distinguished elements of the shift. The conditions are shown to be invariant under flow equivalence, and are tested for a wide class of shifts; as a result it is shown that the \(K_0\) group and the first cohomology group are isomorphic for Sturmian shift spaces.
