In this book equivalent discrete-time base-band models are used to assess the performance evaluation of chaos-based digital communication systems. An analytical approach has been used to study these systems. Chapter 1 serves as an introduction, and some necessary notions and definitions are given for future investigations. In Chapter 2 a classification of chaos-based communication systems is given and various modulation and demodulation schemes are discussed. The next two chapters deal with analytical techniques for calculating various performance measures of both coherent and non-coherent systems. In Chapters 5 and 6 anti-jamming capabilities of chaos-based digital communication systems under narrow band tone jamming and wide band pulsed-noise jamming are investigated and appropriate performance analysis methods are developed. In Chapter 7 and 8 methods for solving the problems of existence of conventional and chaos-based communication systems are considered. Finally, in Chapter 9 both regression and the probability approach to non-coherent detection in chaos-based digital communication systems are proposed. All chapters are provided with a large number of simulation and numerical results that are represented by graphics.
