This model of crystal precipitation is described by a conservation law with one space variable, \(\partial n/\partial t+\partial f/\partial x=0.\) Here f is a nonlinear and nonlocal function of n, the number of crystals per unit solvent mass. A global solution exists and results on uniqueness and asymptotic behaviour are also obtained. Due to the special structure of f no shocks will occur.
