The book presents a unified exposition of the basic principles and tools for the mathematical modeling of real materials that possess complex, random heterogeneity. The mathematical aspect of the book deals with random field theory including the basic constructs of stochastic geometry. From an applied perspective the book deals with modeling physical systems where complex and random material structure play an important role. This includes the modeling of the complex random microstructure of elastic solids. The book addresses to applied mathematicians, physicists, and engineers.
