This paper discusses the problem of how to stabilize communication networks with a finite number of nodes controlled by random multiple-access protocols. Usually, the communication networks with random multiple-access protocols are rather unstable. The authors design an adaptive access protocol to stabilize the networks. For the stabilized networks, the asymptotic stationary state probability distribution and probabilistic and time characteristics are determined.
