The author has proved two theorems on approximation of a function by linear means of partial sums of its Fourier series with modulus of smoothness as a measure of that approximation. These results sharpen the ones of \textit{T. Singh} [Publ. Math. 40, No. 3/4, 261-271 (1992; Zbl 0763.42001)].
